In France, 486 people were arrested during the fifth night of unrest. French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin believes that the night was relatively calm due to the "decisive actions of security forces," according to kommersant.ru.

The Interior Ministry has deployed around 45,000 police officers in connection with the unrest.

Protests in France began on June 27, sparked by the killing of 17-year-old Nahel, a resident of Nanterre, by police. Demonstrators took to the streets, with over 1,300 vehicles burned and another 234 buildings set on fire or vandalized. Many young people are involved in the unrest, with the Interior Ministry estimating the average age of those arrested to be 17, although there have also been 13-year-olds among them.
