Collapse in Alaverdi: Road Closed in Both Directions
On June 25, at 02:20, the emergency management center of the Lori regional rescue administration received a report of a collapse occurring in the territory of the "Akhthashin" LLC gas station on Tbilisi Highway in the city of Alaverdi. No injuries have been reported.
A firefighting-rescue team from the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene. It was found that a retaining wall approximately 150 square meters in size had collapsed near kilometer 53 of the M-6 interstate highway section connecting Vanadzor and Bagratashen, causing concrete elements of the wall and soil to fall into the territory of the gas station owned by "Akhthashin" LLC.
Rescuers have cordoned off the area, and the road is closed in both directions. Traffic will be rerouted through the city of Alaverdi.
