Kılıçdaroğlu Faces 110-Year Prison Sentence, Reports Say
The leader of Turkey's main opposition party, the Republican People's Party (CHP), and former presidential candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu is facing imprisonment and a ban on political activity due to 28 legal cases filed against him. This information was reported by ria.ru, citing the Cumhuriyet newspaper.
Kılıçdaroğlu's lawyer, Celal Çelik, informed the newspaper that there are not 18 but 28 lawsuits filed against the former candidate, which could result in a total of up to 110 years of imprisonment. The Anadolu state agency has reported on this matter.
Following his defeat in the presidential elections, Kılıçdaroğlu did not enter the new parliament as a member and has lost his parliamentary immunity.
