"Lachin Corridor Incident Linked to Unresolved Armenian-Azerbaijani Border Issues" - Zakharova
The spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, has commented on the summoning of Russian Ambassador to Armenia, Sergei Kopirkin, by the Armenian Foreign Ministry.
Zakharova noted that the incident that occurred on June 15 at the Azerbaijani checkpoint on the Lachin corridor is related to the lack of delimitation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. She stated, "The Russian side has repeatedly called for substantial work to be done by bilateral commissions with our support. This incident is yet another flashpoint. The accusations against Russian peacekeepers are baseless. We would decisively recommend reducing the level of rhetorical sharpness."
