Georgia 'Fatigued' by Western Promises and Seeks to Return to CIS Market, Lukashenko

Georgia is 'fatigued' by Western promises and wishes to return to the market of post-Soviet countries, said Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko on Tuesday during a meeting with the foreign ministers of the CSTO member states, as reported by the official website of the Belarusian President.

“Take the example of Georgia. You can see their shift in policy. They are tired of Western promises and want to return to our market, because no one will leave you with your milk, meat, or wine in their markets. The markets have long been divided, and a fierce battle is taking place for them. And this is the second reason why we must be together. This is our acquired market,” said Lukashenko.

The Belarusian President noted that if anything is offered in the West, it would be only in exchange for resources or for advancing a political line favorable to the West. “There is no need to rush, harm one another, and try to somehow avoid each other. We need to be together, especially in these difficult times,” Lukashenko added.
