Azerbaijan Has Not Placed Its Flag on Armenian Territory, Hajiyev
“Claims that Azerbaijan has raised its flag in Armenian territory are inconsistent with reality,” wrote Ayhan Hajiyev, the official representative of Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry, on his Twitter account today.
“Yesterday, when the Azerbaijani flag was raised at the Lachin border checkpoint located on the bridge of Hakari, gunfire was directed towards the border service employees. This bridge was built by Azerbaijan in a short period, and the claims that the flag was raised in Armenian territory are unfounded,” Hajiyev asserted.
The Armenian side emphasizes that yesterday Azerbaijanis attempted to advance and place the Azerbaijani flag on Armenian territory, and relevant videos have been circulated on the internet. It is noteworthy that footage has been disseminated online showing how Azerbaijani individuals attempted to place the flag in the Republic of Armenia alongside Russian peacekeepers.
