Massive Growth of Poisonous Mushrooms Recorded in Sochi
A massive growth of poisonous mushrooms has been recorded in Sochi for the first time, with these mushrooms being listed in the Red Book. They are red in color and resemble a web.
“We have never seen such a large number of these mushrooms. Usually, we find one or two at a time. This is the first occurrence for us, quite a rare event,” said a representative of Sochi National Park.
Experts do not rule out that the anomaly is related to high humidity, fog, and moderate heat. Furthermore, the mushrooms are appearing not only in gardens but also in other parts of the city, prompting local residents to exercise more caution.
According to Sochi National Park, the mushrooms are so toxic that they should not even be touched.
