Explosion Occurs on Route Transporting Bulgaria's Chief Prosecutor
An explosion has erupted on the route transporting Bulgaria's Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev. This information is reported by RIA Novosti, citing Bulgaria's national television.
According to the country's Ministry of Interior, the incident occurred shortly before noon on the highway between Sofia and the town of Samokov. Preliminary data suggests that the explosive device was detonated in front of one of the convoy vehicles. The ministry confirmed that no one was injured.
A headquarters has been established, involving all law enforcement agencies to investigate the incident, with Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev maintaining ongoing communication with the team. It is expected that Prime Minister Galab Donev will hold a consultation with the Interior Minister and the prosecution tomorrow, following which appropriate measures will be taken.
