US Imposes Sanctions on Iran's Military Procurement Network
Washington has imposed sanctions on one individual and six entities related to Iran's military procurement network. This was reported by Armenpress, citing a statement from the US State Department.
"The United States is resolutely committed to taking actions aimed at disrupting Iran's military programs and its procurement networks," the statement attributed to Secretary of State Antony Blinken read.
It has been reported that these individuals and entities, located in Iran, China, and Malaysia, have supported the procurement activities of the Iranian company Pardazan System Namad Arman (PASNA), which is under US sanctions. According to the US State Department, this company is linked to the Iranian Ministry of Defense and military logistics.
"This network has enabled PASNA to acquire electronic components, including those used in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), primarily from foreign suppliers based in China. Iran's proliferation of weapons destabilizes the Middle East and beyond, and we will continue to work with allies and partners to counter such activities," Blinken stated.
