Disastrous Results from Russian Surveys; Kremlin Concerned
The newspaper "Hraparak" reports that, according to certain sources, Russia recently conducted a survey in Armenia through its embassy, which recorded disastrous results regarding the positive attitudes of Armenians towards Russia. Before the 2018 revolution, more than 70 percent of Armenians had a positive view of their strategic partner, but this figure has now nearly halved to approximately 40 percent.
This fact has raised serious concerns in the Kremlin, but so far they are unsure of what actions to take and do not plan to implement drastic measures. They have also tried to gauge Armenian citizens' attitudes towards the West and were somewhat relieved to see that there hasn’t been a significant increase in positive sentiments there. In contrast, surveys indicate that the level of trust among Armenian citizens towards Iran has increased.
