Ararat Mirzoyan's Statement Came as a Surprise: 'Fakt'
'Fakt' newspaper reports that during the last question-and-answer session between the National Assembly and the government, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan announced, in response to a question from one of the deputies, that a trilateral meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Jeyhun Bayramov, would take place in Moscow soon.
According to sources from 'Fakt,' this revelation came as a surprise not only to the ruling party's deputies but even to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan himself. The issue is not merely the meeting itself but the announcement in parliament regarding it. Furthermore, our sources indicate that Pashinyan even reprimanded Mirzoyan for making this information public.
Despite the surprising circumstances, Mirzoyan, as reported from the ministry's backstage, did not 'swallow' the criticism and attempted to clarify the situation. Specifically, he stated that he is prepared to inform the public about every aspect of the ongoing processes and intends to speak openly with them.
Additionally, our sources report that the authorities are preparing to make final clarifications about the process during the Moscow meeting. Accordingly, Mirzoyan is expected to inform the Russian side that they plan to continue negotiations based on the package proposed by the West, clearly signaling that the negotiation platform for the so-called Armenian-Azerbaijani 'peace treaty' is the West.
