Zelensky Assigns Development of Renaming Russia to Moscow

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has tasked Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal with the responsibility to "comprehensively develop" the issue of renaming Russia to Moscow.

The fact is that the President of Ukraine is considering all petitions on his website that gather more than 25,000 votes, and 25,800 have voted in favor of this unusual idea.

The author of the petition indicated that Moscow is the historical name of Russia. Furthermore, the initiator of the signature collection suggests that the renaming would be an "informational powerful step" on an international level.

Zelensky believes that the issue should be developed, taking into account possible "international legal consequences." The development of the issue will also include representatives from the scientific community.
