Azerbaijan has carried out a major provocation towards Artsakh, which could lead to new escalation. This was stated by MP Tigran Abrahamyan from the 'I Have Honor' faction in a post on his Facebook page.

According to the Artsakh Ministry of Internal Affairs, around 10:00 a.m. on March 5, an Azerbaijani military diversion group targeted and opened fire on the vehicle of the personnel of the passport and visa department of the police during a shift change in an area known as ‘Khaypaloo.’

At this point, it is difficult to accurately describe whether the incident constitutes a major provocation or is a preparatory phase for local aggression, but the direction of the attack on Artsakh police officers raises numerous concerning scenarios. There are two primary risks associated with potential Azerbaijani advancements in that direction, but I will address those later.

As for the police shift change vehicle, there were three police officers on board, and it would be appropriate to discuss their fate after receiving an official statement on the issue.
