China Examines Possibility of Supplying Weapons to Russia, Says CIA Director Burns
The United States is confident that China is considering the possibility of supplying weapons to Russia, but intelligence suggests that Beijing has not yet made a final decision, said CIA Director William Burns.
“We do not see evidence of actual deliveries of lethal equipment,” Burns added.
“We do not believe the supreme leader of Iran has decided to resume a nuclear weapons program that was paused or halted in 2003,” Burns stated in an interview with CBS. He emphasized that Americans have no evidence that Tehran has resumed that project.
Earlier, Western media reported that international observers had detected uranium enriched to 84 percent in Iran, which is slightly below the level needed for the production of nuclear weapons. On February 22, it became known that IAEA inspectors were conducting checks at Iran's nuclear facilities.
