Ararat Mirzoyan Meets with U.S. Co-Chair of OSCE Minsk Group Luis Bono

On February 18, during the Munich Security Conference, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with Senior Advisor for Caucasian Negotiations and U.S. Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, Luis Bono.

Ararat Mirzoyan congratulated and wished success to Luis Bono in his important mission.

During the meeting, they discussed issues related to regional security. The interlocutors reviewed the latest developments in the process of normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Minister Mirzoyan presented to his counterpart the recent Armenian proposals regarding the framework for normalizing relations with Azerbaijan.

They also addressed the humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh resulting from Azerbaijan's blockade of the Lachin corridor.

The Foreign Minister emphasized that Azerbaijan's policy of ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh, ongoing provocations, as well as aspirations towards the sovereign territory of Armenia, undermine the efforts of the international community and the Armenian side to establish peace in the region.

The necessity of creating an international mechanism to discuss the rights and security guarantees of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh was emphasized.
