Turkey Circumvents Sanctions and Sells American Military-Grade Goods to Russia: The Wall Street Journal

According to The Wall Street Journal, Turkey has circumvented sanctions imposed on Moscow and sold American-made electronic devices, spare parts, and other goods to Russia. Some of these products have been ordered by the Russian armed forces.

The newspaper reports that at least 13 Turkish companies have delivered plastic, rubber products, and various vehicles to the Russian market worth at least $18.5 million. The products were later purchased by at least 10 Russian companies that are under sanctions due to their involvement in the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Turkish companies, in violation of U.S. export control regulations, reportedly sent $15 million worth of American-made goods to Russia from March to October 2022, including elevators, generators, and computer equipment. Among the Russian companies receiving Turkish products are a subsidiary of the 'Tactical Missiles' corporation, which produces equipment for the Russian Navy, and the arms manufacturer 'Promtekhnologiya.' Both are listed in the sanctions list.

So far, Moscow and Ankara have not commented on the publication by The Wall Street Journal.
