Turkey Not Considering Cooperation with Russia on Bayraktar Production
Turkey is not currently considering cooperation with Russia on the production of the Bayraktar drones. This statement was made by Ismail Demir, head of Turkey's defense industry administration, in an interview with Turkish Hurriyet.
“Our agency is not yet considering the potential cooperation for the joint production of drones with Russia. I can’t say anything. There is nothing on our agenda from which work would begin. That process is shaped within the framework of the Republic of Turkey's policy. We will work on the technical aspects of the issue,” he said.
It is noteworthy that Turkish media had reported statements made by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, indicating that Russian President Vladimir Putin had expressed interest in cooperating on the production of the Bayraktar drones.
