Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry Responds to Lavrov's Statement
Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry has responded to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's statement made during a press conference in Armenia, regarding the situation related to the village of Parukh in Artsakh. Azerbaijani news outlets report on this matter.
During the conference, Lavrov mentioned that the situation around the village of Parukh is a priority for Russian military officials. He stated that certain results have already been achieved regarding the de-escalation of the situation there. “We are aware that this issue will be discussed and definitely resolved within the framework of the concrete work starting on the delimitation question,” the Russian Foreign Minister said.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry declared, “The activities of the delimitation commissions established by Azerbaijan and Armenia aim at defining the state border of the two countries, as previously planned. Within the framework of this process, it is not envisaged to address any issues outside the Azerbaijani-Armenian state border, including those related to the temporary deployment areas of the Russian peacekeeping forces in Azerbaijan.”
