United States Committed to Supporting Peace in the South Caucasus Region
The United States is committed to supporting the establishment of peace in the South Caucasus region. This was stated in the congratulatory message from U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken on the occasion of Azerbaijan's Independence Day.
“We are dedicated to promoting a peaceful, democratic, and prosperous future for Azerbaijan and the South Caucasus region. We are ready to assist through both bilateral and multilateral partnerships in helping the region find lasting comprehensive peace,” the Secretary's message noted.
Blinken also called for reforms aimed at protecting human rights and fundamental freedoms as outlined in Azerbaijan's constitution. He further highlighted that the U.S. appreciates Azerbaijan's support regarding the Ukraine issue.
