Procedure for Obtaining Russian Citizenship Simplified for Two Ukrainian Regions: Putin Signs Decree
Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree establishing a simplified procedure for granting Russian citizenship to residents of two Ukrainian regions: Zaporizhzhia and Kherson. The document was published on Wednesday on the official legal information portal.
On February 21, Vladimir Putin signed a decree recognizing the independence of the Donbass republics. On February 24, he announced the start of a special military operation in Ukraine. In May, it was reported that the authorities of the Kherson region had declared it to be fully under the control of the Russian army.
