Explosion Near Maternity Hospital in Shymkent, Kazakhstan Leaves One Dead
An explosion occurred near a maternity hospital in Shymkent, Kazakhstan. According to preliminary reports, a gas cylinder exploded. It has also been reported that damage was caused to a nearby five-story residential building.
"As a result of the explosion, partial collapse of a 130 square meter area of the building occurred, and the balcony and windows of an apartment located near the five-story residential building, as well as seven vehicles, were damaged. During firefighting efforts, the body of a charred man was found at the site, and his identity is being established," clarified the press service of the Shymkent Emergency Situations Department.
A total of 37 rescuers and 9 units of equipment have been involved in the emergency response efforts.
