Lukashenko Proposes Meeting of EAEU and CSTO Leaders in Moscow
The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, has stated the need for a meeting of the leaders of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) to develop solutions for countering sanctions. This was reported by TASS.
“We need to gather within the framework of the CSTO, we need to gather within the framework of the EAEU, we must unite together. After all, everyone has been talking about the necessity of being together. I suggest, and I believe you will support me, that we should convene in Moscow and sit around the negotiating table,” Lukashenko said during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The Belarusian president noted that Russia has always helped its allies. Meanwhile, Lukashenko stated that all Western sanctions against Minsk and Moscow are illegal.
