Lukashenko Claims There Have Been Attempts on His Life

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko stated in an interview with Vladimir Solovyov that there have been attempts to physically eliminate him, and they are still trying to kill him. According to TASS, when responding to a question from the Russian journalist about whether there have been attempts on his children’s lives as well, Lukashenko commented that “this is already beyond the red line, it is more than that.”

On April 17, 2021, Lukashenko announced the detention of members of a group that, according to him, were preparing to physically liquidate the state leader and abduct his children. Lukashenko asserted that foreign intelligence services are also involved in this plot.
