Presidential Candidate Declares France Will Exit NATO if Elected
The right-wing National Rally candidate for the presidency of France, Marine Le Pen, has promised that if elected, France will withdraw from NATO. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
“We must freely defend our interests, stepping away from the logic of military blocs... Therefore, we will exit NATO’s unified command structure to no longer be drawn into the conflicts of others,” said Le Pen during a speech at a meeting with her supporters on Saturday.
It is noteworthy that the presidential elections in France are set to take place in April 2022. Several candidates have already expressed their intention to participate in the presidential election.
