Azerbaijan Ready to Supply Additional Gas Volumes to Europe in Case of Disruptions from Russia
Azerbaijan is prepared to supply additional gas to Europe in case of supply disruptions due to the tensions in relations between Russia and Ukraine. This was announced by Elin Suleymanov, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the United Kingdom, according to Minval.az.
“Although the additional supplies will not be enough to replace the main supplier, Russia, the energy-rich country can send larger volumes to the continent,” Suleymanov stated.
It is noted that, according to the Financial Times, the European Union plans to hold negotiations with Azerbaijan next week to discuss the potential for increasing gas supplies to Europe via the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline.
