Armenian Postal Workers May Soon Deliver by Motorcycle
The director of HayPost has discussed potential reform plans with the leadership of the Universal Postal Union. It is possible that Armenian postal workers will soon make deliveries by motorcycle. Such an opportunity could arise as a result of collaboration between HayPost and the Universal Postal Union.
According to HayPost, CEO Haik Karapetyan and the head of the Postal Exchange Center, Gevorg Khangeldyan, met in the Swiss capital of Bern with Masahiko Metoki, the Director General of the Universal Postal Union, and Deputy Director General Maryann Oswald to discuss ways to improve service quality and modernize the range of services offered.
Specifically, discussions focused on financing the acquisition of electric motorcycles by HayPost, the installation of new parcel flow lines at the postal exchange center, the development of money transfers under the PosTransfer brand, and engaging new postal operators.
Haik Karapetyan expressed hope that discussions with the Universal Postal Union would create new opportunities for the development of the postal network, expansion of services, and integration of innovative technologies.
