Erdogan Announces Plans for a ‘3+3’ Format Meeting in Turkey
Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has announced that Ankara intends to hold the next regional meeting within the framework of the '3+3' platform in Turkey, as reported by RIA Novosti, citing a statement from the Turkish leader's office.
The first meeting of the '3+3' advisory regional platform took place in early December in Moscow, co-chaired by the Deputy Foreign Ministers of the Russian Federation, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkey, and the Director-General of the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
However, the Georgian Foreign Ministry confirmed that Tbilisi is refusing to participate in the '3+3' regional advisory mechanism concerning the South Caucasus.
In a phone conversation with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, President Erdogan stated that Ankara continues its efforts to establish peace and stability in the Caucasus. He noted that Turkey plans to hold another meeting in Turkey under the jointly developed '3+3' platform with Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev.
