The Lavrov-Blinken Meeting Will Take Place, State Department Confirms
The U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken will meet with his Russian counterpart in Switzerland this week, amid escalating tensions between the U.S. and Russia over a potential Russian invasion of Ukraine, the State Department announced on Tuesday.
According to apnews.com, the State Department indicated that Blinken will travel to Kyiv on Wednesday to meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky, then head to Berlin, and finally meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Geneva on Friday.
“We are now at a point where Russia could launch an attack on Ukraine at any moment,” said another official, speaking on condition of anonymity.
