Turkey's Government-affiliated Media on the 'Zangezur Corridor'
The Turkish government-affiliated media holding 'Demirören' has published an article on its 'CNN Turk' news site regarding the 'Zangezur Corridor'. The article presents the route of the planned railway and claims that the 'corridor' was outlined in the trilateral statement of November 9. This information is reported by Ermenihaber.
It further emphasizes the significance of the 'corridor' for Armenia and Turkey. 'The Zangezur Corridor will provide Armenia with an exit from its own geopolitical blockade. It will offer a geopolitical opportunity for Armenia to take advantage of the processes maturing in the Caucasus, provided that relations with Turkey and Azerbaijan are normalized,' the article states.
The article lists possible developments that may follow the opening of the 'Zangezur Corridor.' It suggests that cooperation and trade with the Turkish world will increase for Armenia, unimpeded access to Central Asia may become possible, and investments will be made to revitalize the historic Silk Road.
It is important to note that the official Yerevan has repeatedly denied various reports regarding the intention to open the 'Zangezur Corridor.' 'The corridor logic is unacceptable for the Armenian side,' stated the press secretary of the Prime Minister of Armenia in September.
