Has Haik Marutyan met Robert Kocharyan? Vardevanyan elaborates
The member of the National Assembly from the 'Hayastan' faction, Aram Vardevanyan, today commented on an article published on the website 'Haykakan Jamanak', which claimed that Yerevan Mayor Haik Marutyan had met with the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan.
“It is interesting whether the author of that material is from the newspaper 'Haykakan Jamanak' or from the executive branch, as it seems there are serious risks of overlap there. Because for me, the source of the information is not clear. I tried to familiarize myself with the material, but saw that the journalist's name was not mentioned, which makes it very difficult to draw any conclusions,” Vardevanyan stated in a meeting with journalists at the National Assembly.
He noted that if such a meeting had taken place, the public would have been informed. “In general, I believe that when the media makes such evaluative comments, the starting point should be factual circumstances, rather than the realm of fantasy or fairy-tale genres,” the MP noted.
When asked whether he has a desire to meet with Haik Marutyan, Vardevanyan replied, “I can hardly imagine what special desire should arise for this.”
