Armenia Has No Choice But to Normalize Ties with Turkey, Says Former Turkish Prime Minister
Armenia has no choice but to normalize its relations with Turkey. This was stated by former Turkish Prime Minister and former President of the Grand National Assembly, Binali Yıldırım, in an interview with haqqin.az.
According to him, the "liberation of the occupied Azerbaijani territories" is no longer a condition for the normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia.
"Now Armenia must show determination to work together with Azerbaijan to establish peace and stability in the South Caucasus region. Turkey is ready to normalize relations with Armenia. But this does not depend only on the desire of one side. Armenia has no choice but to normalize ties with Turkey. Our peoples have lived side by side. The Armenian people must take responsibility for the future of their country," Yıldırım said.
It should be noted that Turkey has been directly involved in Azerbaijan's aggression against Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh. The condition set by Turkey for normalizing relations with Armenia was the abandonment of the demand for the recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
