20-Year-Old Passenger Injured in Major Accident in Kapan Dies in Hospital
According to SHAMSHYAN.com, a criminal case has been initiated based on the decision of Senior Investigator Avagyan of the 2nd Battalion of the Road Police’s 6th Company, under part 2 of Article 242 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.
As reported by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, this case was opened following a traffic accident that occurred on October 26 in the Syunik region.
On that day, around 00:05, a 20-year-old resident of Kapan, John Sahakyan, driving an Opel Vectra, collided with the rear of a KamAZ truck owned by 40-year-old Arthur Hayrapetyan.
As a result of the accident, three individuals sustained injuries and were transported to the Kapan Medical Center, including a 20-year-old passenger of the Opel, Tatul Avanesyan, who later died in the hospital without regaining consciousness.
According to G. Shamshyan, the criminal case initiated by the investigator will be transferred to the Syunik Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
It was previously reported that a major traffic accident occurred in the Syunik region on October 26, when John Sahakyan’s Opel Vectra collided with a parked KamAZ truck belonging to Arthur Hayrapetyan on the right side of the Yerevan-Meghri highway at kilometer 304.
