The National Assembly Honors the Victims of the October 27th Terrorist Attack with a Minute of Silence
The National Assembly observed a minute of silence before the start of the session on October 27th to honor the victims of the terrorist attack that occurred on October 27, 1999.
It should be recalled that on October 27, 1999, Nairi Hunanyan, along with his brother, uncle, and several others, carried out an attack on the National Assembly of Armenia during a Q&A session with the government of the regular session. The terrorist act resulted in the deaths of 8 state officials, including Prime Minister Vazgen Sargsyan, National Assembly President Karen Demirchyan, Deputy Speakers Yuri Bakhshyan and Ruben Miroyan, Minister of Operational Issues Leonard Petrosyan, and MPs Armenak Armenakyan, Henrik Abrahamyan, and Mikayel Kotanyan.
