What Will Putin and Erdogan Discuss? Peskov Reveals the Agenda for Talks
The meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will take place in person, despite the fact that the Russian leader continues to conduct all other events in a video conference format, said his press secretary Dmitry Peskov, as reported by Interfax.
In an interview with journalists, he confirmed that preparations are ongoing for Erdogan's visit scheduled for Wednesday, September 29. According to him, the leaders will discuss several international issues. “They will discuss regional problems. I think that Syria will be at the top of the agenda, as well as Afghanistan, Libya, and the traditional exchange of views on other international issues,” Peskov said.
He also noted that the presidents will cover common matters in bilateral relations, including joint projects in the economic sector. “There are many operators in these relations. Companies from both countries are interested in this. The presidents always discuss it,” Peskov added.
Peskov denied reports that Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi would also participate in the negotiations with Putin alongside Erdogan on Wednesday.
