Extraordinary Court Hearing Held on Release of Armen Charents from Detention
An extraordinary court hearing has been convened in the Avan and Nor Norq administrative court of Yerevan regarding the release of National Assembly Deputy Armen Charents on bail. Armen Charents did not attend the court session due to health issues.
It is noted that Charents has been facing health problems, and according to his lawyer, his condition has deteriorated in recent times. Charents was previously released on bail of 15 million drams but was re-detained shortly after.
To recall, Armen Charents has been charged with coercing participation in elections. Days before the voting, an audio recording of a meeting with employees of the Izmirlian hospital circulated online.
