Azerbaijan Continues to Block Humanitarian Missions' Access to Artsakh: Mirzoyan's Speech at the UN

During the 76th session of the UN General Assembly, a ministerial meeting of the "Alliance for Multilateralism" platform was held, with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan participating and delivering a speech.

The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports that in his speech, Mirzoyan highly praised the holding of the ministerial meeting of the "Alliance for Multilateralism" and the opportunity for participation, stating that Armenia reaffirms its strong commitment to multilateralism, which is increasingly critical today amid rising global disasters.

“The COVID-19 pandemic continues to hinder our collective efforts to find solutions to global challenges and to achieve the sustainable development goals by 2030. We believe that the international community possesses the tools to combat the pandemic and curb its spread worldwide by ensuring the global availability of vaccines and conducting vaccination campaigns. Armenia is deeply convinced that vaccine availability must be impartial and equitable, as they are truly a global public good, and only through vaccinations can we overcome this still raging pandemic,” emphasized the Armenian Foreign Minister.

He added that the COVID-19 pandemic has had a severe impact on every state, hindering economic progress and disrupting the security environment both regionally and globally. 

“In the context of a global pandemic, the war unleashed by Azerbaijan against Nagorno-Karabakh and its people led to a humanitarian disaster. Even today, Azerbaijan continues to block the entry of humanitarian missions into Artsakh, depriving the peace-loving residents of the opportunity to receive humanitarian aid,” stressed Mirzoyan, adding, “Since one of the main objectives of the Alliance is to 'protect, preserve, and develop international law, including international humanitarian and human rights,' we call on all member states not only to increase pressure on Azerbaijan to ensure the rights of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh and the return of Armenian prisoners of war but also to support the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group in finding a lasting political solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.”
