From the Shores of Araks to Karvachar, Everything Belongs to Araik Harutyunyan: Armenians Protest
Residents from Artsakh say, "You have lost housing here, we must provide you with housing here in Artsakh, but it doesn’t work that way; there are many issues." This was stated by one of the internally displaced individuals during an interview with reporters at a protest held near the government earlier today.
“After the 2016 war, enormous amounts of money were spent to provide housing for people in Talish. People went to live there, but as you know, Talish is now under Turk's control, so what guarantee do we have now? Even the government does not connect with us; they absolutely do not want to hear our opinions,” said the protest participant, who also expressed dissatisfaction with the social injustice prevailing in Artsakh, particularly addressing Artsakh President Araik Harutyunyan.
The citizens indicated that today they will address the UN office and the French embassy.
“He can be considered both old and new. The social injustice is that people are called individually and their personal issues are resolved. From the shores of Araks to Karvachar, it all belongs to Araik Harutyunyan. The fields are his, the vineyards are his, everything is his. So how does social injustice occur?” he stated.
It is noteworthy that they are protesting to demand that their opinions be taken into account when implementing housing programs and providing homes. They primarily do not wish to return, seeing security issues, and specifically justify their claims by stating that Artsakh again has no status, and in this regard, everything remains uncertain.
