The Armenia Alliance Issues a Statement
The Armenia Alliance has issued a statement, which in particular states:
“Compatriots, the Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who is trying to maintain his power at all costs, has created chaos in the country and is ready to commit any treasonous act at the expense of the state and the homeland. In fact, the Turkish-Azeri aggression continues. Correcting the situation will require superhuman efforts.
The Prime Minister, who has resigned from his position and has de facto lost his powers, is unauthorized to sign any document on behalf of the Armenian government. Furthermore, any agreement reached through actions prohibited by international law, including the use of force or the threat of its use, is null and void.
In light of the above:
- The government must cease the illegal execution of Nikol Pashinyan's powers. The signing of yet another anti-state document by Nikol Pashinyan behind the backs of the people cannot be legitimate.
- The vital interests of the Armenian people and the territorial integrity of Armenia can only be guaranteed by the new authorities formed through upcoming early elections.
- The government's duty is to restore Armenia's territorial integrity and sovereignty by all possible means.
May 20, 2021.”
