Mane Gevorgyan on Azerbaijan's Obligation to Return Prisoners
In line with its humanitarian commitments and universal values, Armenia has always prioritized the resolution of humanitarian issues. This was stated by the spokesperson for the Prime Minister of Armenia, Mane Gevorgyan, in response to a question from Armenpress.
“On May 11 in Baku, Russian and Azerbaijani Foreign Ministers Sergey Lavrov and Jeyhun Bayramov discussed the need to address humanitarian issues. In this context, the provision of land mine maps was mentioned. How do you respond to that statement?”
“Remaining true to its humanitarian commitments and universal values, Armenia has always prioritized the resolution of humanitarian issues. At the same time, we find it unacceptable that Azerbaijan is justifying the failure to fulfill its obligations under point 8 of the trilateral statement of November 9 with unfounded interpretations. The international community's position regarding the immediate and unconditional repatriation of military captives and other detained persons is more than clear,” she added.
