Nikol Pashinyan Failed to be Elected Prime Minister
The National Assembly today did not elect Nikol Pashinyan as Prime Minister for the second time. The voting results were 1 against, 1 in favor, and 76 abstentions. Thus, according to the law, the seventh convocation of the parliament has been dissolved.
According to the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia, if the parliament fails to elect a Prime Minister twice, the National Assembly is dissolved. However, the parliament will continue to operate until the creation of a new convocation of the National Assembly.
