Officials Avoid Questions About Shushi at Victory Park
On May 9, high-ranking officials from Armenia visited Victory Park in celebration of Victory Day. They avoided answering questions from NEWS.am reporters.
In particular, Andranik Kocharyan, the chairman of the National Assembly’s defense and security committee, acknowledged that the journalist was from NEWS.am and stated he would only answer questions after the celebrations.
When asked what May 9 means for them after conceding Shushi, Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan simply replied, “We’ll talk later.” This response was echoed by Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan.
Defense Minister Vagharshak Harutyunyan gave a brief response to the same question, stating only “Victory.” Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan remarked, “If I were to provide any comments, I would definitely hold a press conference or invite you for an interview.”
