Kyrgyz Authorities Evacuate Over 33,000 People from Conflict Zone at Border
More than 30,000 citizens of Kyrgyzstan have been evacuated from the armed conflict zone near the border with Tajikistan. This was announced today during a press briefing in Bishkek by the Republic's Minister of Health and Social Development, Aliza Soltonbekova, TASS reports.
According to her, a total of 33,388 people have been evacuated, including 19,200 children and adolescents. The deputy minister noted that the majority of those evacuated are currently in urgent need of food, medicine, clothing, and essential items. She also expressed gratitude to the country's residents for their support of those evacuated.
Latest data shows that over 100 tons of humanitarian aid has been gathered for residents of the affected regions.
