Turkey Passes Resolution Condemning Biden's April 24 Statement

The Turkish parliament has passed a resolution condemning U.S. President Joe Biden's statement on the Armenian Genocide, which, according to Turkish lawmakers, will inevitably have a negative impact on Turkish-American relations.

"We decisively condemn Biden's statement regarding the events of 1915, which contains the theses of the Armenian lobby, and we reject this unfounded slander. The U.S. president has no legal or moral right to make judgments on historical issues; his statement has no legal force," the resolution states, as reported by RIA Novosti.

The document also calls on Biden to "review this statement, which is incompatible with historical facts." It should be noted that U.S. President Joe Biden used the term "Armenian Genocide" in his April 24 message, stating that the systematic extermination of Armenians was organized by the Ottoman authorities.
