Four Iranians Detained in Turkey
Turkish authorities have detained four Iranian nationals who participated in a protest against President Erdoğan on March 20 in the city of Denizli. The detainees are Ismail Fatthahi, Leili Farajian, Zeynab Sahafi, and Mohammad Pourakbari.
The protest was related to Erdoğan's decision to officially withdraw Turkey from the Istanbul Convention, aimed at preventing violence against women and domestic violence. This convention is widely recognized for its role in protecting women's rights, as reported by Ermenihaber.
The detained Iranians have been transferred to the foreigners' section of the Denizli police department. It has been reported that their detention was due to their participation in an unauthorized gathering.
