It Is Important to Make Decisions That Will Eliminate Obstacles to Movement Between Armenia and Azerbaijan: Andrey Rudenko
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko spoke about the process of unblocking economic and transportation links between Armenia and Azerbaijan in an interview with the "Moscow-Baku" publication.
Rudenko stated that the unblocking of economic ties and transportation communications is beneficial for all parties involved. The South Caucasus has suffered for a long time and continues to endure mutual blockades and the inability to establish normal cooperation. He noted, "Today there are signs that we are moving in the right direction. Transportation corridors and economic communications must be opened and developed in all directions, connecting the countries of the region into a single regional network."
The Deputy Foreign Minister highlighted that positive assessments have been made in Russia regarding the initial results of the tripartite working group co-chaired by the Deputy Prime Ministers of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia. He stated, "Within the framework of this mechanism, all possible transportation routes are being considered and analyzed. This is a very complex and intricate process involving representatives from several agencies of the three countries. It is important to make decisions that will allow for the simultaneous maintenance of a balance of interests and gradually strengthen mutual trust, removing obstacles to the free movement of goods and people through the territories of Azerbaijan and Armenia," said Rudenko.
