US to Provide Grant to Armenia for Establishing Friendly Relations with Turkey and Azerbaijan: RT
The US State Department will allocate $150,000 to strengthen the partnership between Washington and Yerevan. This was reported in the grant description reviewed by the Russia Today television channel.
According to the document, the funds will be directed towards the implementation of programs that contribute to the "development of cooperation" between the two countries. "All projects must contain an American cultural aspect or connection with American experts, organizations, and institutions specializing in certain areas, which will contribute to a deeper understanding of US policies and perspectives," the text states.
The State Department believes that potential grant recipients may engage in promoting shared values between the United States and Armenia, as well as enhancing security in the region. Moreover, it emphasizes the establishment of friendly relations between Armenians and the residents of Turkey and Azerbaijan.
Additionally, the activities of future contractors may aim at developing the potential of Armenian media in the country, as well as fostering "democracy, civil society, and the rule of law." Up to $150,000 is planned for the initiative, which will be overseen by the US embassy in Yerevan.
