Major and Tragic Car Accident in Armavir Region, Collision Between Mazda6 and Honda; 1 Dead, 5 Injured

Today, February 22, a major and tragic car accident occurred in the Armavir region. At around 01:30, on the 13 km stretch of the Yerevan-Armavir highway, a collision happened between a Mazda6 driven by 35-year-old Manuk Grigoryan and a Honda driven by 37-year-old Grisha Atayan.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, as a result of the accident, the drivers and G. Atayan’s passengers: 49-year-old S. Jahukyan from Yerevan, 72-year-old M. Mkrtchyan from the town of Tashir in Lori Province, and 22-year-old H. Jahukyan sustained bodily injuries and were transported to the “Vagharshapat” medical center.

At around 05:10 today, a call was received at the Vagharshapat Police Department from the hospital that G. Atayan had died in the intensive care unit.
