The First Export from Turkey to Russia via the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway
The first export train via the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway departed from Ankara, Turkey, on January 29, 2021, heading to Russia. The freight train has now arrived in the Kaluga region, located near Moscow.
A ceremonial event was held in Kaluga to welcome the train, attended by Mehmet Samsar, the Turkish Ambassador to Russia. The freight train transported 4,000 units of household appliances from the well-known Turkish brand 'BEKO' to Russia.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Samsar emphasized that economic relations are a key component of Turkey-Russia relations. He added that this train serves not only as a means of export but also as a kind of bridge of friendship between the two countries and peoples.
