Did Vazgen Manukyan Not Get Accepted? ‘Zhoghovurd’
'Zhoghovurd' newspaper writes: 'The street protests of the opposition seem to be fading. At least since the beginning of 2021, the street struggle has not continued, and sources from 'Zhoghovurd' newspaper convey that the leaders of 17 parties are not meeting each other with the same activity and enthusiasm as before, nor are they discussing future actions. In the opposition field, there are the same panic and decline sentiments as within the authorities.
We have repeatedly published that not all of the 17 parties have accepted the idea of nominating Vazgen Manukyan as a united candidate for Prime Minister. Especially after the unpleasant incident that occurred in Gyumri the day before, this impression has solidified among political leaders.
It is also clear that the opposition cannot currently change its candidate for Prime Minister, as it would result in them appearing to have lost even before achieving any success, and Vazgen Manukyan nonetheless did not manage to become the unified candidate.
The leaders of the 17 parties, having only the issue of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's resignation on their agenda as a goal and program, have not been able to convey any other message to the public. Since uniting in opposition on November 9, the 17 parties have not managed to record at least one success up to today.'
