Issues of Border Opening and Unblocking Will Be Regulated by Deputy Prime Ministers of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia: Putin
A working group will be established between Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan that will deal with the opening of closed borders in the region and the unblocking of economic, trade, and transport links. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
“Particular attention should be paid to the unblocking of economic, trade, and transport links in the region and the opening of borders. It is planned that a trilateral working group under the co-chairmanship of the Deputy Prime Ministers of Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan will deal with these issues,” said Putin.
The meeting between Nikol Pashinyan, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev is taking place in the Kremlin. Pashinyan's spokeswoman, Mane Gevorgyan, has stated that the pre-planned agenda of the trilateral meeting has an economic nature, which pertains to the opening of regional communications and the implementation of international freight transportation, including from Armenia to the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as through the central regions of Armenia via the railway to the Syunik Province towards Nakhchivan.
